17.10 Cumnor Minors v Carterton ( Win 3-0 )

A game of two halves ! The first half and the second half

Starters were Adam, Shooting Boots, Charlie, Flynn, Tom, Harry and Wills. With Matthew, Grant and Cameron in reserve.

Carterton started the game off with three players missing, sickness, birthday etc.....We were completely distraught to be facing a side where all the players were missing. After putting the flags and Klaxons away after finding out this we were ready to start the match.

I must say I should now apologise to Adrian for my comments last week. I should know by now that if I make any comments, its likely to bite me back the following week and this weeks referee was completely different. An excellent performance!

We started sharply in contrast to our recent games and earned a penalty after 3 minutes for hand ball. Will confidently strode up and passed it beautifully into the goal keepers arms, if only he could achieve this in passing practise during the week! During the first half we continued to put them under pressure with numerous throws and corners but did not get the break! Carterton were relatively quiet! HT 0-0

At half time we changed the team around with Elvis for Wills, Cameron for Flynn and lastly Matthew for George M.

We started well and on 22 minutes following pressure Harry scored from a header following a throw from Tom, and a head on to Harrys head! At 24 Minutes Tom had a free kick from a long way out and scored a lovely goal which the goal keeper had no chance. Grant then had a few chances going close.

We changed the team around again at 30 minutes and looked a great going forward but we left massive holes at the back that nearly cost us a goal, not forgetting George M had a close call on giving a penalty away.

On 38 minutes following my call for Cameron to get back into defense and stop pressing forward, he immediately got the ball and scored, 3-0 at this point the game was over.

Then on 40 minutes Grant was taken down in the penalty area and Grant strode up and took a penalty which I think was closer to the corner flag than a goal post. In fact it was probably closer to our penalty goal post than theres.

CONGRATULATIONS, Well played to everybody a great team performance and a very good performance from Harry and a clean sheet for Adam. Overall shots on target 10 two less than we needed !!!!!!!!!!!!

Man of the match Tom Again (Mainly because he left the trophy at home so it was easier to give it him back)
