A strange scoreline that reflects the effort that the seven Brackley players put in. Nobody would know this side were at the bottom of league and deserve to be in a much better position after this performance.They gave us a good run for our money and played some good quality football. The players this week were concentrating from the off, but Backley took the lead three times only to be pegged back each time by a dogged Cumnor. HT 3-2 to Brakelea! The second half we looked stronger, muscled them out and closed them down earning a deserved result, but only because of the quality and effort that the whole team put in. A very good performance in the end that hopefully has helped the teams resolve in difficult circumstances.
Our starting stars were, Adam, Shooting boots, Old Man, Flynn, Tom with Harry and Matthew leading the line!
1-0 3 mins Bakely scored from a quick break
1-1 6 mins Flynn headed in an excellent cross from Matthew
2-1 12 mins Old man failed to get his legs in gear and a shot was deflected by shooting boots
2-2 14 mins Harrys turn and shot within the penalty area
3-2 16 mins Sprackley scored again!
HT Changes Tom, Flynn Matthew off for Cameron, Wills and Elvis
3-3 22 mins All players stopped after a cross from Wills was handballed in the penalty area, the whistle did not go but Harry played on and scored a tap in! Harry always plays on EVEN when the goalkeeper has had the ball for five minutes in both hands!!!!!!!!!!
3-4 Will turned and shot from outside the box and it went in the bottom corner
3-5 Harry took a hard long shot, the goalkeeper saved but could not hold, lightning Cam broke the back of the net from 2 foot!
3-6 Repeat of goal 5, Harrys hard shot, Cams speed, 2 foot, broken net!
Cams man of the match sponsored by Andrex after going down behind 3 times was Wills who in the second half was everywhere!
Special mentions to Harry for work and shots, Cam for his pace and strength in midfield, Flynn for his total effort that he always gives, Elvis for his power and silky voice singing 'love me tender'which mesmorised the Leyback midfield!
