06.03 Cumnor Minors v Carterton (Win 2-1)

After 3 months of waiting for a home game, finally the tea shop gets some much needed funds!

As for the match, well without our beloved leader on the touchline praying for spirital guidance how would we cope?

Team lined up as:- Adam,George,Elvis,Bomber,Will, Matthew and Flynn.

The answer to the question above was OKish!!!!!! With total dominance of the match from the off and with shots aplenty from Will, Matt, Harry and Flynn surely it would only be amatter of time before we took the lead, BUT NO half time it was 0-0.

Changes were made Cam for Flynn, Tom for Harry and Charlie for George.

The second started very well as Cam finished from close range after a pass from Will 1-0, things should now settle down and more goals hopefully will come, how wrong I was and total confusion in the defence let Carterton in for a equaliser.

More changes George for Grant, Harry for Will and Flynn for Matt, the boys now had to dig in and try and grind out a result, of which they did. A cross from Harry was tucked in by Flynn with 5 minutes remaining, they then managed to hang on for the victory.

Not the most convincing of victories but a win is a win, with every boy contrbuting in some way or form during the match we all should be pleased with ourselves. WELL DONE LADS KEEP IT UP FOR THE NEXT 3 GAMES.

Man of the Match was Grant solid as a rock at the back, playing with great confidence, well done Elvis.

Friendly Match W 6-1.various scorers

Thanks to Carterton for the match played in the right spirit, all the best to them for the future.

cheers MARK
