On a sunny Closes pitch we met with a fine bunch of normal parents with lovely boys for a wonderful match of football!
Starters were Adam,George D, Cameron, Flynn, Tom, Wills and Elvis! Subs Harry and Shooting Boots!
Brackley Town won the 3rd division last season but lost two of their best players to Bicester Town Colts and Chasewell Park Pumas! Just like the manks Man Utd and City in the premiership!
We started slowly as the players seemed to be concentrating more on the sunny morning, the twittering of the birds and the rustling of the rabbits in the hedgerows! We were rewarded with the loss of a goal after 3 minutes and were 1-0 down! I will say we were not surprised!
After this we seemed to have a bit more fight and after bitting our nails down to our knuckles Will scored after 12 minutes after good work by Tom. Then on 17 minutes Toms corner was nudged in by Wills to make it 2-1 at Half Time, we did look the better side! HT subs were Shooting Boots for Elvis and Harry for Flynn although they came back on later!
Wills scored a 3rd after 21 minutes following a shot from Tom, then 'Hound Dog' Elvis (Grant) touched a well deserved goal in to make it 4.
A fair industrious performance that was not a pretty game,at times BUT you only win by scoring goals in football!
We had a play off for man of the match via a penalty shoot out between Wills and Tom! Tom ended up as man of the match for having a part in all 4 goals Wills narrowly missed out after his hat trick, but couldnt score in the man off the match play off.
Friendly win 2-1 after a fine goal by shooting boots!
A big THANK YOU for everybody for their help, Lynne and Ollie for the tea shop, Adrian for his refereeing , Lee, Adrian Andy etc for helping clear up!
A good day at the office although Im intending filing a complaint to the FA as I dont think Adrian is fit enough to be an under 10s referee! Thank you Sir Alex.............
