Our unbeaten record is over
Was it Castle Grounds.....Was it a Mole Hill......Was it a dog doo disposal area...Was it a ploughed field...Was it a cow field NO it was a football pitch! Well it had me fooled and we all walked past it looking for the pitch.......well at least the grass was short.....in places dependant on where the rabbits had eaten!
On a windy and dirty day we had probably 21 chances of which 11 were probably on target. They went down our end 3 times, we scored an own goal, a cross went in on the wind, and towards the end they attacked from our goal kick.
Their manager at the end graciously said we deserved a goal which I thought was exceptionally generous of him. We played football we pressed we did not do many things wrong but we had trouble scoring. I believe we played well and in no way did the final score reflect the play BUT thats football.
Many positves and I could give all players mentions but Grant was man of the match playing in a defensive midfield position which he is not used to and made a good impression. A big thank you to an excellent team - some days in life it does not go your way - As you get older you find this out - particulary when the only hair that grows any more is in your nose!
Friendly around 6-0 to Cumnor I think Harry scored a hat trick.,
The manager was a pleasant chap and the parents ok but we will do better on their return to our pitch, that much I do know..............
WELL DONE ALL including Deddington Town Colts Cheetahs....!
Roll on next week
