From one extreme to another
This week we played on a cricket pitch ! We had a proper referee who maybe was to proper, but was very fair, a football instead of a medicine ball and the luxury of a tea room! who says under 10 football need not be fun.
I did try and bribe their referee with a cup of coffee but he was having nothing of it.
Good parents and a Double Act Manager and Coach who entertained us when we were not watching the football. Thanks to both Wayne and Richard who coach the team for the love of football as they have no children in the side.
We were the bigger side and after several comments from their management like, "they saw Cameron getting out of his car when he turned up" and "watch out for Matthew who plays for the under 21s" you get the picture.
Starting line up was Will, Matthew, Cameron, Grant, George D, Shooting Boots and Adam. Harry and Flynn in back up.
Overall we were clearly the better side but we cannot but congratulate a Wroxton side who started playing this season and battled from start to finish and clearly will develop their football in time.
Goal 1 - 10 min - shot from Cam and Wills tapped in.
Goal 2 - 18 min - Matthew after a mix up in the box after a corner.
HT 2-0 - Adam on pitch, Grant in goal, Harry with his pink marigolds, and Flynn on.Wills and George M off
.
Goal 3 - Adam a shot from the half way line - straight in.
Goal 4 - Harry made a good shot from the left that came off the post Matthew tapped in.
Goal 5 - After a fast run down the right wing Cam punched a goal bottom left - Very good
Goal 6 - Matthew for his hat trick.
FT 6-0
Very good football, but we need to take less touches in the box before a shot as we are being closed down!
Man of the match Matthew - Harry was never a contender for bringing his club into disrepute for his fairy gloves!
Second game around 9-0 playing a christmas tree formation, one at the back, two in midfield with three up front. Shooting boots even managed a goal! Harry for a change got a cheer when he took his Marigolds off.
The result was not fair to their goal keeper who played very well.
Thanks for the sweets Matthew and hopefully this rounded your birthday week off well
