02.09 Friendly Home Radley

Our 1st game of the year to build some team work for the coming season.

We started with 9 players supplemented by Rory from the u12s and Mr X more commonly known as fatty from Radley U16s - Sorry Ollie!

The 1st game is about building the understanding of the normal team day

Having your full squad available
Having all your team turn up
Getting there at least 30 mins before KO
Having your kit ready
Having a pre match session to get your squad picked and in the right places
A relaxed team talk and discuss positioning at set plays

We failed on all counts?

Better this week than next. We started positively we all players ready to go and shortly we were in a position where we finished the 1st half 6-1 up after dominating most of the match.

Second half the management switched the team around to try out some places and the formation was not as effective. The two Radley midfielders dominated the midfield and were calling the shots to their players the score was returned to 6-3 after a great shot from No 10.

After a brief time out 10 minutes before the end the Boys were re energised. The least the management required was a 1-0 performance and after returning the boys scored 2 goals before the final whistle 8-3.

Lots to think about but a great performance after along lay off

A wonderful refereeing performance from the short referee who strangely drunk a cup of tea for the 1st 10 minutes of the 2nd half . Apparently it needed to cool down and his movement was excellent particularly around the confines of the centre circle!

A game hopefully all enjoyed including Radley. The rallied well in the 2nd half and showed some class, thanks to Steve and the boys.

Man of the match sponsored by Yorkshire Tea was Lewis McKenzie who worked hard and scored a goal in his 1st appearance.  Lots of good performances from all well done.

Yes we have had it before!
