with new dawn a new beginning and with any dawn we have our piles of dogs muck, as if to remind us we do not live in a perfect world. However, the chances we missed last week were converted to change us from a small loss to a big win without any great change in performance.
Also in any small village we have the local characters, the village drunk, the village idiot, the village philanderer but we at Cumnor have the village muck spreader, we will come on to to that later!
Excellent performances from all the team I think we made a minor step from last week, mentions to all
ADAM - Could have been man of the match made some excellent saves was remarked upon by the opposition as a great keeper.
GUY - Ran and ran and snuffed out the attackers down the left and they played with two forwards far right and left. Came out to midfield late 2nd half and we took control.
GRANT - Started right mid then moved to right back against his wishes, he played magnificently cancelling their most dangerous attacker down the left, played for the team above himself a noble performance.
DOM - Did his usual stuff and did it well at centre back.
ELLIOTT - Excellent positional play, good headers, strength and awareness.
COOKIE - Battle, battle and battle the standard Cookie performance -thanks
HARRY - Got the 1st goal and played well supporting the front men put some good balls through as asked fantastic work rate.
SHOOTING BOOTS - Some great awareness in midfield made a good step forward
JAMIE - A step forward from last week and made some good tackles and looked to get the ball to the forwards
LEWIS - Proving to be one of the best for effort, worked hard all game and made himself awkward for the opposition, which is a good quality also improved with his tackling and using his size particularly when moved to right mid.
OLD MAN GEORGE - Coming back from illness he still looks short of match fitness but played up front from half time when 1-0 up then we scored 5 in the second what more do we have to say.
MEHMET - Made himself tough eased people away and more importantly scored most of his chances to get his hat trick, hardly any different from last week they just went in fantastic and man of the match.
1-0 17 mins Harry
HT 1-0
2-0 52 mins Mehmet following in from Harrys shot a good goalscorers goal
3-0 58 mins Mehmet
4-0 64 mins Old man following in from a knock in from Harry and his head!
5-0 68 mins Mehmet Hat Trick
6-0 70 mins Cookie blast in low
FT 6-0
Winner today was our football I know there were niggles particularly late on, ignore the opposition and let the goals do the talking.
Man of the match Mehmet sponsored by the mad muck shoveller from Cumnor the old dog MARTINI who as you can see by his name is also prone to be the village drunk, occasionally the village idiot particularly when drunk and also the ...........................we must talk to Julia.
WELL DONE ROLL ON NEXT WEEK!
