15-11-15                            CUMNOR MINORS  8  v  LAUNTON ATH  1

After Cumnors impressive performance last week they were looking to build on that and carry on winning ways against a Launton side who have been struggling in the league but cannot be taken for granted.

With the high winds blowing across the pitch the game was going to be a test of patience and keeping the ball on the floor, and keeping the passes sort and simple!!

It was Launton who started the game quicker when the forward capitalised on a short back pass and put the away team one up after only two minutes. Cumnor were slowly getting into the game but ADAM had to on his toes when a corner was swung in and he made a great save to keep the score line at only 0-1,it was on 15 minutes on the clock when JAMIE managed to get a cross in from the left and DOM headed home for 1-1, three minutes later Cumnor were in the lead when a long ball from the back from SCOTT fell nicely to HARRY who calmly lobbed the keeper for a 2-1 lead to Cumnor. For the rest of the half Cumnor kept knocking at the Launton door and putting the pressure on but couldn't find the killer touch to gain a bigger advantage going into the half time break, at the other end CAM  ELIOT,SCOTT, MEHMET and ADAM were looking fairly untroubled but with only a slender lead they all had to be on toes at all times............HT 2-1 to the Blues!
At the half time the management had a quite word in the teams ears( basically up the tempo and play the ball on the floor!!) Within 30 seconds of the restart a nice one two between HARRY and DOM resulted in DOM making it 3-1,two minutes later it was 4-1 with again some nice build up play from WILL and HARRY again was finished of by DOM for his hatrick, DOM then hit the post and Cumnor were looking like they could score with every attack with the midfield in control of the game it was of no surprise when WILL then fed in DOM to make it five on 65 minutes and two minutes later scored his fifth and Cumnors 6th when firing in from the edge of the area, TOM then hit the post and CAM and WILL went close before JAMIE ran through and fired home for the seventh and on the final whistle JAMIE made it eight to the home team....FT 8-1.

A great team performance battling against the wind wasn't easy but once the boys realised that passing the ball on the floor was the answer then the game was over...WELL DONE TO ALL.

Man of the Match :- ELIOT solid at the back and holding his position all game

special mentions to WILL and CAM both had a very impressive match
