06-12-15                                 LAUNTON ATH  1  v  CUMNOR MINORS  3

After a break of three weeks without a match the boys needed to be ready and prepared for a tricky match away at Launton, and with only 11 players available for the game all ready for a long hard slog on a very sticky big pitch.

Cumnor got off to the best possible start when HARRY ran through on goal and finished to give Cumnor the lead after only one minute, five minutes later it was two when again HARRY capitalised on a short back pass rounded the keeper and scored, Cumnor then had many more chances to build on their lead but didn't take them with JAMIE hitting a post, GEORGE forcing the keeper to pull off a great save, but Launton always looked like they could get back into the game and ADAM had to be on his toes, the next goal was going to be crucial and as the half-time whistle blew Cumnor were team and management were hoping it was going to be them!!!
Cumnor started the second half.......( correction Launton started the second half.......Cumnor were still in dressing room mode when Launton pulled a goal back two minutes in )all of a sudden from being in control of the game Cumnor were struggling and as the game went on players were looking more and more tired, Launton then hit the underside of the bar and at the other end Cumnor went close with the keeper making a couple of good saves, with 10 minutes left DOM then latched onto a short goal kick from the keeper ran through and finished smartly....3-1,Cumnor were then just looking to see out the time with COOKIE playing on one leg ( cramp ) and other players very tired it was of great relief when the final whistle went... FT 1-3 to the cyan's.

This was a great win for the boys not the prettiest of games but a ground out victory, considering no subs and playing on a very big pitch and securing another 3 points for Cumnor, well done to ADAM,MEHMET,JAMIE,JOHN,CAM,COOKIE,GEORGE,MATT,ELIOT,DOM and HARRY.

Man of the Match:- CAM for a great defensive performance and a never say die attitude.
