02-10-16 CUMNOR 8 v MARCHAM 4
After the disappointment of last weeks defeat the boys would be looking to bounce back in style playing against a Marcham team they have never played against before,game on!
Cumnor started really quickly and got their first goal of the game after only 4 minutes when JOEL finished of a nice move, ADAM then somehow clawed out a corner from underneath his crossbar to preserve Cumnors lead and when HARRY C put a ball through to HARRY TI he latched onto it and calmly placed the ball in the bottom corner for 2-0 (15mins),Cumnor were now in command of the match and 5 minutes later JOEL turned and fired in from the edge of the area for 3-0,JAMIE then did well on the left hand side before crossing in for JOEL to secure his hatrick and Cumnors 4th, the boys were cruising towards half-time when their first last laps of concentration happened and it was 4-1, but straight after kick off Cumnor again increased their lead when JOEL again finished smartly from the edge of the area HT 5-1.
In the second half again the boys started really quickly and within ten minutes of the restart had scored their 6th when HARRY TI put in a free kick for JAMIE to head in at the back post, the boys then went a little bit into their shell...understandable considering the score-line BUT you never know and when Marcham got a goal back with still 20 minutes to play then were rewarded a penalty and despatched it (ADAM unlucky), so with in a the blink of an eye it was 6-3! No worries... JOEL rounded the goalkeeper for 7-3 but still the scoring went on when it was Marchams turn next 7-4 and finally DOM finished off the scoring with a calm finish after nice build up.......FT 8-4.
Another very exciting match with goals and incidents galore.......no one can say are games are boring, the boys did really well considering only one sub and a warm afternoon, a great way to bounce back.
Man of the Match:- JOEL for five well taken goals
special mentions to CAM,HARRY C,ELIOT and GEORGE who all had solid games
