06-11-16                        MARSTON U18'S  2  v  CUMNOR U17'S  1

After four weeks without a game the boys needed to be quickly out of the blocks against a Marston u18's team currently unbeaten, and still without the injured SCOTT a hard game was ahead of them.

The game was very scrappy in the first 20 minutes with neither side creating any clear cut chances, Marston looking to catch Cumnor on the break but CAM and JAMIE were doing a great job at the back, Cumnor themselves had a couple of half chances before the break but were unable to convert them and when the halftime whistle went both teams trudge off needing and deserving there 15 minute rest!!!!!HT0-0.
FIVE MINUTES later the boys were kicking off again and now playing with a 4-4-2 formation and looking to unlock the Marston defence, DOM had a header go just wide and the boys were looking more likely to get something a free kick then taken by ELIOT was nicely flicked on by OSMAN to JOEL who finished calmly to give the Cumnor the lead, with 30 minutes left to play the boys really needed to dig in and digging in with guts and determination they did,,Marston then hit the post but it then looked like Cumnor had gone two up but the goal from DOM was ruled offside!!with only five minutes remaining Martson got the equalising goal and then to rub salt into the Cumnor wounds got the winner in the very last minute of time, Cumnor then nearly got the equaliser at the death but had lost a hard fought game in which they had all worked so hard. 2-1 FT.

I really feel for the boys who gave there all in a hard fought match they all worked their socks off and didn't deserve to lose in that fashion, BUT on the positive we showed we can hold our own and give any team a real game, heads up and on to next weeks home match v Letcombe

Men of the Match:- CAM and ADAM both had great games
